Veterans Day 2017
I spent 4 years in the Air Force supporting our freedom and I'm mad as hell that the medical profession, big pharma, and the government are in collusion and trying to take away those freedoms. Today (actually every day) is an appropriate day to think about this and to use some common sense and logic. There are more reasons than what I've listed here, but this will get you started.
This is a little long, but some things to think about: LOGIC. COMMON SENSE, and STATISTICS: U.S. Supreme Court said vaccines are "UNAVOIDABLY UNSAFE." Why do drug companies have no vaccine liability? Those who want mandatory vaccines say that if people stop vaccinating, all those diseases will come back worse than ever - well, by age 28, all the childhood vaccines have worn off, and less than half of adults get vaccinated, so where are all the epidemics (pandemics?) and why aren't all the adults dropping dead like flies from all those diseases? If vaccines are effective, why are most outbreaks happening in vaccinated populations (especially China where 99.5% of the population is vaccinated, and they are having outbreaks)? Why would anyone care if someone's child wasn't vaccinated if yours was, as yours would be immune to all those vaccine-preventable diseases if vaccines were effective? If they are safe, why have there been over 60,000 deaths (perhaps much higher) in VAERS (where less than 1 in 10 actually gets reported according to CDC, maybe as little as 1 in 100 - I've multiplied by just a factor of 10), E.R. visits - over 2 million, Hospitalized - over 600,000, Life-Threatening - over 110,000, and Disabled - over 82,000. Here's a chart from the CDC for 2014 Pertussis cases
(https://www.cdc.gov/pertussis/downloads/pertuss-surv-report-2014.pdf) - notice in the lower right chart that over 5x as many cases reported in those who got the 3+ recommended vaccines compared to those who did not get the vaccine. The above does not take into account the possible long-term side effects which are unknown as there are no studies available for this. Did you know that to save one person from getting meningitis, the meningococcal vaccine will have killed three people and injured much more? More people die and are injured by vaccines than from the diseases they are supposed to prevent (according to statistics from VAERS and CDC). If you look at graphs of diseases from the 1800s to the present, and where vaccines came in, you'll see that most diseases were almost already gone when the vaccines arrived. Check the graph for scarlet fever - there was no vaccine for that, so you can't give vaccines credit for that. Why aren't people still getting it? Why do many, if not most, doctors not vaccinate? And finally, why have there been almost no comparison studies in the U.S. between vaccinated and unvaccinated people (there were a couple in Europe showing vaccinated children less healthy than unvaccinated)? I know, that last question is a tough one, but if you actually spend some time on it, you'll figure it out (and no, they wouldn't be sacrificing the unvaccinated because there are around a million children who do not get vaccinated). If those who want vaccines would actually do some research, fact checking, use some common sense and logic, perhaps they would find the truth. Instead, they accuse those who actually have done the research of not doing research and those who want safe vaccines are called anti-vaxx. I wonder if they call those who want safe highways, anti-highway. I wonder if they call the U.S. Supreme Court anti-vaxx for calling vaccines unavoidably unsafe. No doubt they would call you that if you said what SCOTUS said. I know all this won't change the opinions of those who want everyone vaccinated as they seem incapable of logic and common sense or of doing research from independent sources. Then again, perhaps they are profiting from vaccines.
What about immune-compromised people? There are around 200 other diseases for which there is no vaccine, not to mention there are variations of many of those diseases for which there are vaccines. Plus there is vaccine shedding. And finally, there are carriers of diseases who may show no symptoms but can spread the disease. So vaccinated individuals may actually put them more at risk.
Some of you may wonder, "if not vaccines, how do I stay healthy?" Learn about healthy, organic nutrition and proper supplements. Eliminate sugar and all artificial and chemical ingredients from your diet. Get proper exercise, lower your stress levels, get plenty of good sleep. For me, before learning and practicing this, if there was a virus or bacteria going around, I got it - at least four times a year. After learning about this, I no longer get any of those - no flu, no colds, no viruses. All without vaccines!

Health Insurance (ACA) and How to Save Money
The first choice is to eat the typical American diet of fast foods, processed foods, soft drinks, chemical-laden foods with artificial ingredients, lots of sugar and/or artificial sweeteners, etc. I just read the average person eats 3 pounds of sugar a week. I also read that 40% of adults are obese, and 20% of children are obese. That would be the result of this first choice. Before I changed my choice from the first choice to the second one, I had allergies so bad I had trouble breathing at night, an ulcer, IBS, sick at least four times a year with every cold and flu going around, bronchitis, dandruff, sinus infections, etc. By my current age (assuming those who make this choice live that long), the average person is on several prescription drugs a day, each with possible serious side effects (including on your wallet) and can be extremely expensive.
The second choice is pretty simple - eat organic whole foods, foods that actually grow out of the ground (and without ingredients you can't pronounce), drink purified water, and take supplements (the supplements you will probably have to experiment with to find the right combination). I changed to this choice around 40 years ago. All the above problems I listed faded away over time. And no more colds or flu (without flu shots!). What I do is Health Care which is so much better than Sick Care (choice one). Anyone can do it, and now with the internet, everyone has all the information available on how to do it. Two excellent websites to learn about healthy living are Foodbabe.com and Mercola.com. One thing that is important to keep in mind - if you change your diet, it may take several years for all your problems to fade away, although you will probably see some improvements much sooner. But be patient (and not a patient). Make sure you let your health practitioner know what you are doing, especially if you are currently taking medications.
Are there any guarantees that the second choice will eliminate your health issues? Of course not, but it increases the odds in your favor, probably by 80% or more. It sure worked for me. So well that I have almost no need for the so called "health care" system...or more correctly, the sick care system. The benefits? You save money, and more importantly, you stay healthy, enjoy life more, and probably live longer. And you don't have to pay for prescription drugs. Supplements are a lot cheaper and generally have no side effects (NOTE: some supplements and medications cannot be taken together. Please check with your healthcare practitioner).
There are still hereditary conditions and accidents, so not everyone can totally eliminate health costs, but everyone can increase the odds in their favor. You will never hear about the second choice in the media and probably not from your doctor. After all, if your doctor tells you how to stay healthy, you won't need to see him/her anymore.
If everyone would become educated about healthy eating and practiced it, there would be no need for the Affordable Sick Care Act. To your health!
A word of caution (and a way to save money) about supplements and ads - I just received an ad for a product called "Nerve Aid" that is supposed to help with diabetic nerve pain. When you check the product at Amazon, the ratings are mediocre, and the price is higher than it should be - $70 for a one month supply. Always check the reviews. Also, check the ingredients. And then do some research. For example, if you search for "mushroom for nerve pain" in Google, you'll find Lion's Mane, which might have been good to add to the formula or maybe would work on its own. Or you could list the ingredients in the formula with the Lion's Mane and try different combinations and strengths - you might find one that works. Plus many times when you order the ingredients separately you can save a lot of money. I personally use a superfood mix that I originally saw online from a B.H. doctor ad, and saved about 75% by buying the ingredients separately, even added a few other ingredients, and mixed them in a big bowl for my own superfood formula. All organic ingredients in the B.H. formula and in mine.

Vitamin and Supplement Studies – 4 Things you may not know about them.
Every so often, a news report comes out quoting a study that claims to show the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of a certain vitamin or supplement. There may be times when all, or most, of the previous studies showed positive results for the nutrient being studied, and the current study contradicts all of those findings, and gets the media coverage. So what are five things you should be asking about the study?
Who, or what company, did the study and who funded the study? Many times, studies on vitamins and other alternative nutrients that were reported to have negative results was funded or conducted by one or several drug companies. One can draw their own conclusions from these studies. Better yet, a few weeks after the report comes out, do an internet search – many times it will found that the study contained flaws, which may include any of the following.
It may have used a certain group of people who are not representative of the general population. They may have been people with an already advanced disease where the nutrient would not work the same as it would with a healthy person, or someone with a minor problem.
Perhaps they used extremely low or high amounts of the nutrient in the study, or they gave it to the subjects too little or too often. For example, vitamin C, to be most effective, should be taken 2-3 times per day - in the morning, afternoon, and evening, as most forms only stay in the system for 4-6 hours.
Did they use natural or synthetic ingredients? In several studies which showed negative results for vitamin E, Vitamin A, and Beta Carotene, synthetic forms were used. The media made no mention of this. However, if the study was checked, it would have been seen that the synthetic forms had been used. In most, if not all, cases synthetic forms are no good, and may cause problems (usually the synthetic forms have a “dl” in front of the main ingredient, and the natural form has a “d.” So d-alpha vitamin E is natural, dl-alpha is synthetic. These same designations are used for amino acids).
If you hear a negative report about some vitamin or supplement, saying that it is unsafe, or doesn't do anything to improve your health, and is a waste of money, but all the past evidence shows just the opposite, there is a good chance that it falls into one of the above four categories. Should you then disregard all negative studies regarding supplements? No – but you should research the current study, as well as previous findings, to find the truth.
Keep in mind the following when considering the safety of vitamins and supplements, especially compared to drugs. An article in the Journal of the American Medical Association reported that an estimated 106,000 hospitalized patients die each year from drugs that, by medical standards, are properly prescribed and properly administered. More than 2 million more suffer serious side effects. According to the Orthomolecular Medicine News Service: “The 2003 Annual Report of the American Association of Poison Control Centers Toxic Exposures Surveillance System (1) states that there have been only two deaths allegedly caused by vitamins. Almost half of all Americans take nutritional supplements every day, some 145,000,000 individual doses daily, for a total of over 53 billion doses annually. And from that, two alleged deaths? That is a product safety record without equal.”

A WORD ABOUT THE EFFECTS OF DRUGS ON NUTRIENTS
Depletion! If you are taking prescription or OTC medications, then you probably know about some of the side effects they may cause. In addition to the side effects, or possibly one of the causes of the side effects, and what many people and doctors don't realize, is the fact that drugs deplete certain vitamins, minerals, hormones, and other nutrients. This can happen in one of two ways – either by blocking their absorption, or by causing your body to eliminate them in less time than it normally would. The result is that you end up with deficiency symptoms that can have serious consequences (heart and nerve damage, stomach problems, etc).
Depending on which drugs you're taking will determine which nutrients are getting depleted. These can include B vitamins, Vitamin K (needed for clotting and bones), friendly bacteria (which help balance immune function and digestion, among other benefits), coenzyme Q-10 (for cellular energy, the greatest concentration being in the heart), iron, zinc, and hormones, such as melatonin if you are taking beta-blockers. If it is not contra-indicated, you can take supplemental nutrients to help get your system back in balance. However, sometimes taking supplemental vitamins, minerals, or hormones may interfere with the drugs that you're taking – so always check with your doctor and find out if you can take certain nutrients.
If your doctor is not aware of nutrient depletion, and is unable to answer your questions relating to that, you can find answers at several sites on the internet. I entered “"prescription drug" deplete nutrient” into Google and the first listing was an excellent chart showing what prescription drugs deplete which nutrients, with a link from that chart to a chart of OTC drugs and which nutrients they deplete. For drug nutrient interactions, a Google search with “"prescription drug" nutrient interactions chart” yielded good results. Another good source of information is your pharmacist.
The population of the US (and much of the world, for that matter) is already nutrient deficient due to poor eating habits (fast foods, processed foods, sugar, artificial ingredients, etc), and depleted foods. Taking medicines that also depletes them can add to the problems and make matters worse. For example, the number one mineral deficiency in this country is magnesium. Complications from magnesium depletion include muscle weakness and conduction abnormalities, twitching, depression, hypertension, heart disease and cardiac arrhythmias. So if you are taking medication that blocks absorption of magnesium or causes it to be excreted from your system, you're adding to the problem - unless you take supplemental magnesium and eat foods rich in magnesium.
What should you do? Well, besides adding a good multi-vitamin to your diet, as well as other nutrients that may be getting depleted, you need to take a good look at your diet and exercise program and make the necessary changes to them to get on the road to health. Then perhaps you will be able to discontinue the drugs and get back in the balance nature intended.
